Service Description

What is Hijama/Cup[ing Therapy? The word 'Hijama" comes from the Arabic word 'Hijm" which means to vacuum/suck. Hijama is also referred to as 'cupping' due to the use of cups being the therapeutic tools. Sterile plastic cups are placed on certain points of the body as a form of holistic medicine. Depending on the types of cupping therapy being performed (dry/wet) different process will take place. Dry cupping is where sterile plastic cups are placed using suction to the body. No incisions are made to the body. Therefore no blood is removed from the skin. The cups are gently moved over the body using oils to massage the skin. Helps break down stiffness in the body. What can be treated/improved with cupping? Headaches, migraines, blood pressure, hypertension/hypotension, back/shoulder/neck pains, circulatory problems, fertility problems, high cholesterol, digestive system, respiratory conditions, acne, asthma, hay fever, congestion, depression, anxiety, stress, fatigue, stiff muscles, inflammation, rheumatism, general well being, bodily detox, bowel problems, arthritis, gout, acid reflux, menstrual pains, urinary inconsistency, stomach aches, heartburn, diabetes, neuralgia, insomnia, improve metabolism & much more. For bookings outside Birmingham/West Midlands area, additional travel costs will apply.
